The ancient Chamori people of Guahan used the Spondylus Shell (called kulalis) as money. They were also carved and designed into Jewelry.These colorful Mollusk shells were abundant in ancient times and extremely colorful. The royalties of Guahan wore these shells for sacred and official ceremonies.
